Optional Swim Session at the Solomon Center on April 27th 2-4

Hello Tri Club Families,

The Solomon Center optional swim session is now open for enrollment.  $10 per session, per child.  An adult responsible for your child will need to stay at the training session. If your child is going with another family, make sure you send the signed waiver with your child.

Session - Sunday, April 27th from 2p-4p

Swim practices held at the outdoor heated pool at Solomon Calhoun Community Center & Pool, 1300 Duval Street, St. Augustine, Florida.

PLEASE make sure your kids bring: transition towel (small hand towel), goggles, bottle of water, running shoes, regular towel for drying off, bike helmet and the signed waiver for each of your kids (attached). No Bikes.

$ due to Coach Underwood by 4pm, Thursday, April 24:
 Session - Sunday, April 27th  from 2p-4p

Information from Solomon about the 2 hour session:
At the beginning of each session we will swim test the students. They will be given their “green” card and will not need to retake at another YMCA. This will take about 15 min. Each 2 hour session or Clinic will take the participant through what to expect during transition from the swim to bike. 20-30 minutes of practice jumping out of the pool and transitioning. And 45-60 minutes of swim stroke development.

Completed swim registration form ( on the google doc attached to this email), Solomon Calhoun Waiver (attached), and cash or check made payable to YMCA of Florida's First Coast is due to Mrs. Underwood by the Thursday before the session(s) you choose. Solomon is setting these sessions up just for our team/kids. As a result, they are bringing in swim instructors for our sessions based on the headcount we give them on Thursday afternoons preceding the swim session. If you commit for your child to attend a session and something changes after Thursday, your money can’t be refunded for that session as the swim instructors have been contracted and will have to be paid.

Kids need additional pool time? This is a St. Johns County public pool. The YMCA manages it. You don’t need to be a member of the YMCA to use it. If you are looking for additional pool time for your child, this pool is open most days of the week for family swim time and lap swimming. Check out their schedule on their website and pricing. I believe it is only $2 per adult and $1 per child.
